Default Farming Griffons with W/Mo (farm 20++ [up to as many as you can agro])

Well k the most i had been farming (with a good spawn to be able to draw that many was 14.. i took them down in about 2 minutes.. the main reason i want to write a guide about my warrior is this:

ok lets start..

*~SKILLS~*
  • Cyclone Axe (You will get 20health and 1 Mana for ever Monster standing around you with this build)
  • Bonettis Defense (75% block while Cyclone Axe is recharging + Mana after casting your Enchantments)
  • Gladiators Defense (Loats of Damage oO + block to have time to recast Vigorous Spirit)
  • Live Vicariously (10 health whenever you hit an enemy)
  • Vigorous Spirit (Attack a monster you will get 10health)
  • balthazars spirit (Well its for mana end adrenaline, actually its just needed when just a few monsters are standing around you to gather adrenaline for) bonettis.. but its good for something else.. you will see later)
  • Watch Yourself (You will wether need this nor have time to cast it but I do not like to change my build too often and its good for other PvE)
  • Sprint (To run away from the Rockshot Devourer)

Attributes
K here is what im using (I've already done the two +15 attribute points quests, but it works without too!):
  • Healing Prayers: 10
  • Smiting Prayers: 5
  • Strength: 2 (1+1)
  • Axe Mastery: 12 (10 + 2)
  • Tactics: 12 (10 + 1 + 1)
Healing Prayers: To get 20health for every monster standing around you while you are using Cyclone Axe! (10+10 = 20)
Stmiting Prayers: Not really needed cause you just gain more adrenaline with Balthazar's Spirit that way
Strengh: Well i one RuneSpace left and one more point to give away =) (longer sprint)
Axe Mastery: Well thats obvious isnt it? =) to get more damage with cyclone axe and normal attacks
Tactics: To have longer Stances (Bonetti's Defense and Gladiators Defense/Defensive Stance) + move damage with gladiators

Ok now here are the Attributes if you do NOT have the +30Points through the two quests..
  • Healing Prayers: 9
  • Smiting Prayers: 0
  • Strength: 1 (1Rune)
  • Axe Mastery: 12 (10 + 2)
  • Tactics: 12 (10 + 1 + 1)
Ok here we go:
I've already told you that smiting isnt that neccesary as long as you do not fear attacking many griffons at the same time =)
Strength is just for sprint so it doesnt matter if you do not have any point left to put in there
Healing Prayers: 18 Health a Monster is quite a lot too if you do not do any mistakes =)

Well now about the items:
I havent tried it with an other armor than:
All Gladiators for energy and +20armor against physical attacks (as griffons are no spell casters) and knights boots (for the absorb) (You will get +1 Tactics from the helm aswell)
Runes:
I'm using a Major Vigor and a Major Axe though i think that you should be able to do it with minors too.. Now we've got 3 slots left and we cant put any vigor and axe in there..
now the only intelligent decision i can think of is Minor Tactics Minor Strength and an Absorption Rune (I'm using a major one)

Weapon and Shield
Well as we are using Axe attacks i assume you are gonna use an axe =)
An Axe with maximum damage would be great but isnt absolutly neccesary
Now If I were you i would add that mod to your axe that lowers your enegery regeneration by one but gives you one energy on every hit (can you think of any reason? i hope so xD ) (Its the Zealous Mod dont know what its called before you apply it to your axe ^^)
As You will always be enchanted i would use an axe with % damage while enchanted but thats actually your desicion as this is just a thing that will speed your runs up..
Now the second mod is all about what you prefer.. =) but i would use an armor mod against physical damage (though me myself im using Fortitude oO had been too lazy yet to change that )
Customize your axe if you know that you wanna keep that axe and do not want to sell it in the future anymore =)
Shield:
Well thats a really though decision again.. there are some shields i can think of being good to use them though im not using a perfect shield too xD
Something with maximum Defense wouldnt be a mistake (ive got 15.. 16 is maximum lol )
Well now Health while enchanted wouldnt be wrong though its quite expensive.. some reduced damage wouldnt be bad too..
well actually you should take the best you can find..
here's an image of my weapon/shield:


Well now the way this is done is pretty easy =)
Gladiators has a recharge time of 30seconds and Vigorous Spirit lasts 30seconds.. oO thats a good information!
Now .. if you are using Defensive Stance its getting a little bit harder cause u cannot reload Vigorous Spirit while in a stance that doesnt stop when you are casting a skill (Instead of watch yourself you good equip another stance like Defensive Stance to do it the way we are doing with Glad's)
k lets run out of augury rock (into prophet's path)
cast Balthazar's Spirit (Reason? yes.. you will need less time while having to cast your enchantments at the start in the middle of monsters..) + this is the enchantment that will give you mana when Rockshots are shooting at you..
I wouldnt use Sprint unless it is really needed (cause of the rockshots..)
the earliest point i would use this is here:

When attacking Griffons there shouldnt be any rockshots around.. else you might(will) die..
k now gather some griffons around you (as MANY as you CAN! will make things easier)
when you are done agroing them cast your stance (not bonettis as you may not be able to cast that now anyways..) now cast Live Vicorously and Vigorous Spirit..
Now use Cyclone Axe (If you used Gladiators before wait until it is blinking and cast bonnettis than..)
k so you are in buisness now..
Vigorous Spirit will whipe out after 30sec so watch that!!!!
K i'm doing it with Glad's as followed:
Cyclone Axe and IMMEDIATELY Bonetti's Defense (To stay in a stance and not getting hit too much until Cyclone is recharged..)
Now use Cyclone Axe again followed by bonettis (and so on)
when gladiators is recharged vigorous is going to whipe out in a second so cast gladiators now and re-enchant yourself with vigorous
Use Cyclone until Gladiators is blinking (Gladiators is dealing a lot damage so i wouldnt cast bonettis before gladiators is over)
and start the hole thing from the beginning..

now if you do not have gladiators you might want to equip healing signet to (cause when vigorous is going to whipe out you should wait until cyclone axe is recharged cast vigrous than followed by cyclone and bonettis..
reason?well you used the stance to cast your enchantments at the start.. it takes 45secs to recharge so you will not be able to use it when vigorous stops..
you could play around that by equipping two stances (defensive stance (30secs recharge) and Shield Stance(45secs)

The Reason why you have to recast Vigorous is the 20health.. 10 isnt enough! =) you will find out soon when forgetting to recast it ^^

It may not be perfect but im posting this here so that you can give me some ideas about how to improove it (though its quite thought through)

well im killing many griffons PRETTY fast (especially with gladiators..) its not that fast without gladiators though =) but its still gonna be enough..
i have to recast vigorous 2-3 times usually (that are 2mins?) well and if you gather all the griffons around you that are there (will not work cause they are too far away from each other) you will do a run in 2mins..
well with some training you will need just 1 minute per group (thats what i would do if these stupid griffons wouldnt act like this:
Im Agroing 3 groups.. one of every group will not attack immediately.. it will wait until you killed one or two =/
I would just kill those that had been there from the start and run with the others to the next group (you should have enough energy to use sprint ^^)
cause this build is easiest when there are a LOT monsters around you.. (to be able to spam Cyclone Axe and Bonettis immediately after that..)

well if you have any ideas or comments i would really love that =)

k here is a picture i just did with the attribute setting without the skill quests! (forgot to change it after looking what the attributes could look like without the 30 bonus lol)

Can you see those 4 standing out of my agro circle? i had already been standing next to them.. the just do not want to draw near.. =/
i did the ones that are standing around me in 50seconds and than the others came and i killed those ..

One thing, replace balth with Mending, it provides nice health recovery while aggroing the griffons.

Also i never needed zealous on axe, because when glads aren't up, Bonnetis are, and it provides you enough energy as i see it.

And last, i have ever had problems doing this even with 4-7 rockshots around me, dont know why u have that?

akkarin @ I've got same problem as you, when aggroing a group of 4 almost everytime one of them are just standing ánd doing nothing, in these cases i normally just start attacking the one who doesn't do anything, sometimes it works.

one out of every group stays back.

bonetties is more than enough for energy

heres how you use the skills

cyclone
gladiators defense
vigourus spirit
cyclone
cyclone
bonetties
cyclone
bonetties
cyclone
bonetties
etc

first cyclone is to get your health up. then glads so you have time to think and cast vigorous spirit. you should be able to get 2 cyclone axe hits off before gladiators defense ends. then just swap back and forth between cyclone and bonetties defense. Remember to keep plugging away at one of them so you can gain 20 health always.

you should also(for farming) carry enchantment mod weapons/sheilds.

Very Nice and done before. Not to take anything away from the OP. This is a good guide to get you started farming. Nice job to the OP.

My only Suggestion is drop balth and watch yourself both are not needed in this setup. The OP said that watch yourself was a hold over anyway.

Bring Dismember and Exec Strike for killing the bosses instead. If you are having problems staying alive then drop sprint for heal sig and use it only when glads is up. Later you can change back to sprint and get to the farming faster.

well ive thought about that enchantment thing too but i had never had time to buy one xD and when i wrote this i forgot to write that =)

about the rockshots.. well i just have problems with them when im attacking them actually oO i dont know.. but when i attack them i think they cast shatter enchantment + a health-degeneration of 7 or 8 oO its kinda off though you are right =) but i like being on the save side ^^

and for that: it has already done before
hmm well you might be/are right but i hadnt seen anything without glads and good instructions of how it could be done without having the attribute quests done and so on =)

+ i wanted some ideas of how i could improve my build.. =) and i got them

[E]dit: i just counted the griffons on the picture above.. i fought 14 griffons in 1minute and 40secs that about 8 seconds a griffon.. hmm i think thats a quite good time xD

If I use those my Stance will end so these are probably just good to kill the boss when the others are dead already..

its giving you adrenaline and thats quite good for the 3-4 monster coming after you have already killed the other griffons =/
so im not gonna drop that ^^

wow ok it was a good build but there are a few skills that you dont need infact you can run this build with only 6 slots but i use all 8 =)

1)cyclone
2)executioner
3)vigorous
4)bonnetis
5)healing breeze
6)glads D
7)live vicariously
8)mending

ez build any 1 can use i jus run thru desert aggro everything and kill em all =)
armor i use is Glads and i use a zealus axe but the axe really doesnt matter

NOTE: i think you got ur attributes you dont need to max your wepons attribute infact mine arent that high and i kill em all jus fine =)

a very nice guide indeed, but the 55 still rules this , troll farming, minatur framing, but i have come to see that wars. do it almost as well in some cases

The only real danger from the Rockshots is Distracting Shot, shatter enchantment? No, they're ranger monsters, the degen is probably coming from the flame trap they set.

I just constantly do cyclone axe - bonettis, the 75% evasion from bonetti's makes it highly unlikely that distracting shot will hit you. Same thing with Troll's Disrupting Blow.

well i can think of two reasons:

1. you arent perfoming the skills right (maybe forgetting some enchantments?)

2. your armor isnt good xD

(actually my mate had some problems learning this too but after 10minutes he got it.. it pretty easy once you !!UNDERTOOD!! the tactic..

just read through the build once more and try it again =)
its really working great! (just did 10k in 45minutes xD)

Here's my griffon build:


1. Cyclone Ax
2. Vigorous Spirit
3. Bonnetti's Defense
4. Shield of Judgement
5. Zealot's fire
6. Dyloaks Signet
7. Balthazar's Spirit
8. Mending/Live Vicariously

I aggro the Griffons then use a cyclone ax to get Bonnetti's charged, then use Bonnetti's and shield of Judgement (so it's less likely to get interrupted by rockshots). Then I cast Zealot's fire. And then I just repeat cyclone ax + vigorous spirit. It kills really quickly.

Like I mentioned in a post yesterday, Shield of Judgement does a lot more damage and it knocks down the opponents, which gives you a bit more time to heal during battles against multiple opponents. I can take as many griffons and minotaurs as i can round up without leaving any behind. Also SOJ lasts longer. 20 seconds with a 45 recharge.

The other thing is your weapons. You would be better off using a sundering or icy mod in the desert. Also, if using soj, you can use an enchantment mod to make it last longer. This is what i use. I prefer the sundering to icy as I farm across the map, not just in the desert. Hope some of this helps.

I think you guys are wasting a lot of attribute points in healing instead of putting it in Tactics... With tactics 15 you can do 35 dmg with Glad's defense.

This can be done as easy with a warrior only build and I'll post it here since making another thread seems like a waste to me.

I use a sword because I use Ripostes in this build. Here take a look and tell me what you think.
I have completed the two 15 point attribute quests so I have the full 200 attribute points.

My attributes are following:

Tactics - 15 (11+1+3) (+1 is from the helm and +3 from a Superior Tactics rune)
Strength - 11 (10+1) (+1 from Minor Strength rune)
Swordsmanship - 11 (10+1) (+1 from a Minor Swordsmanship rune)

My skillbar is as follows:


Gladiator's Defense [Elite]
Bonetti's Defense
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Shield Stance
Sprint
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet

I have a Max Dmg Barbed Spatha of Defense (+5 Armor) and a 45/-2 Stance collectors Crimson Carpace Shield.


This is how it works:
Once you aggro 4 or more griffons, activate Dolyak Signet and Gladiator's Defense.
Glad defense should last about 11 seconds and as soon as it runs out activate Shield Stance. While Shiled Stance activated use Riposte and Deadly Riposte to get even more damage. Shield Stance should last you 20 seconds and when it runs out your Gladiator's Defense will be ready to go again. Activate Glad. Defense again and use a Healing Sig if you need. Also activate Dolyak Signet every time it recharges.
Once your Gladiarot's defense expires activate Bonetti's Defense. Remember you need to be attacking them with your sword in order to gain adrenaline for Bonetti's Defense and Riposte. When Bonetti's Defense expires you should have enough adrenaline to activate it again while waiting for Gladiator's Defense to recharge.
At this point most of the enemies should be dead by now but if they're not activate Gladiator's defense once again.

Note: Use Riposte and Deadly Riposte every time they're ready while you have Glad Defense or Shield Stance active. Do not use any skills while your Bonetti's defense is UP since it will end automatically and will leave you vounerable.

So tell me what you think. This is just my suggestion as I have found this build to be the most effective for me.

Another thing too, is I hardly ever have any problems with Rockshot interupts because every time I use the healing Sig they will miss with their Distracting shot because I have either Shield Stance activated or Glad's Defense.

Edit: Added screanshots of the bosses.....Now you can kill that pesky monk boss :P

^^ My exact farming build too Swords and shield stance ftw! It can pretty much take out everything in that desert area except the sand elemental things and the bugs. Although i haven't really tried that hard on them.

Although sometimes i take desperation blow instead of sprint, to take out rockshoots instead of running past.
